
Daniela Kravetz
Daniela Kravetz is a lawyer specializing in international human rights, international criminal law, gender-based violence, and access to justice in conflict and post-conflict contexts. She is an adjunct Professor at the Faculty of Law of the University of Calgary. She also provides technical assistance to institutions of transitional justice and international organizations in the investigation and prosecution of gender-based crimes. She has worked as senior counsel for the Crimes Against Humanity and War Crimes Section of the Department of Justice in Canada.
Previously, Professor Kravetz held various positions with the United Nations. She served as the Special Rapporteur for the human rights situation of Eritrea of the United Nations Human Rights Council. She was a member of the Sudan Expert Panel of the United Nations Security Council, where she served as an expert in international humanitarian law. She also worked for the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia, first as a legal assistant in Chambers, and then as a prosecutor in the Office of the Prosecutor.
Her areas of investigation and publication include gender-based crimes in international criminal law, women's rights in post-conflict periods, and transitional justice and gender. She has been an expert on international human rights and gender-based violence in various cases before the Inter-American Court of Human Rights.
